Where My Story Begins
I grew up in Monterey and Carmel, California, where agriculture and food were always part of my everyday life. My father has worked in the agricultural industry since the year I was born, founding an organic fertilizer business that focuses on how and where our food is grown.
Being surrounded by those conversations from a young age gave me an early understanding of the complexity behind food production and sparked my interest in the systems that bring food from farms to consumers. Over time, that exposure grew into a deeper passion—not just for food itself, but for how it is communicated and understood.
Turning Curiosity Into Communication
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where I concentrated in Public Relations and minored in Agricultural Communications. At Cal Poly, I began exploring how storytelling and media strategy can shape the way people understand complex topics such as food systems, health, and sustainability.
I also got the chance to work with Mustang Media Group, Cal Poly’s student-run media organization. This experience introduced me to the fast-paced world of marketing, audience engagement, and campaign development. It showed me the importance of how to engage and communicate with college aged audience.
Telling Stories That Build Trust
During my time in college, I completed two internships that further shaped my interest in digital storytelling and brand communication. I worked as a public relations intern at the firm Monde, where I gained experience in strategic communication and media relations. I also worked as a Donor Relations Multimedia Communications intern at Cal Poly, where I created digital media designed to share the impact Cal Poly’s donors have on the university community.
Using Media to Empower Better Choices
I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising at the University of Southern California. My work focuses on social media strategy, video storytelling, and digital communication that helps brands build trust with their audiences.
My goal is to work with food, agriculture, and lifestyle brands to create media that not only informs consumers, but also strengthens meaningful relationships between brands and the communities they serve.
When I’m not working on media projects, you can usually find me at the gym, making jewelry, thrifting and selling clothes on Depop, or spending time outdoors near the beach.
